If you thought that the Costa Blanca was exclusively a sun and beach destination, you will be surprised to read how many things you can do in autumn in Benidorm. Gastronomic events, local festivities and even an original carnival await you in the coming months.

During the month of November the Fiestas Mayores Patronales (patron saint festivals) are celebrated in Benidorm, between Friday 9 and Wednesday 14. During those days, religious events, parades, and of course, fireworks will take place. The origin of these festivities dates back to 1740, when during a great storm a boat was stranded on its shores. This boat was burned and after that, some boys found the image of the Virgin among the remains, which they later took to the church where a chapel was built. This event is staged every year in the Poniente Beach during the main festivities.

After the patron saint festival, the British Carnival will take place, a party that has been held in the city for more than two decades and in which both tourists and locals take to the streets dressed in the best costumes to enjoy the party, in our hotels we also celebrate it our way, if you come over those days, do not forget your costume!

November is also an ideal month to do outdoor sports since temperatures have not yet fallen too much. The Costa Blanca is an ideal destination to enjoy cycling; bring your own bike or rent it during your stay and go for it; there are routes for all levels.

And don’t worry: even though the summer is over, Benidorm still offers thousands of plans for all tastes and ages… You will not get bored!
