We are pleased to announce that our hotels Bali, Riviera and Pez Espada have succeeded in renewing once again the Travelife Gold Certificate, an award that recognizes establishments that comply with Travelife’s environmental and social management policies. For the first time, the Balmoral Hotel sent its candidacy and has been awarded the same seal as the other MedPlaya hotels on the Costa del Sol. On Thursday 26th April, the Med Playa group was awarded the Energy Sustainability and Efficiency Prize by Endesa after the process of replacing traditional fuel with natural gas at the Med Playa Calypso Hotel in Salou. This measure has meant an economic saving of 4,975.50 €/year and a 19% reduction in CO2 emissions. At MedPlaya we have always been aware of the importance of having a sustainability plan in order not to unnecessarily compromise the planet’s resources and the possibilities of future generations. The Association of British Travel Agents created Travelife in 2007, a system to measure the social and environmental impacts of companies related to the tourism world. 2017: MedPlaya celebrates 50th Anniversary
In 1967 the seeds of MedPlaya were planted with the first hotels of this new group opening in Benidorm. 50 years later, MedPlaya continue to have a strong presence in Benidorm plus the other popular Costa destinations of Mainland Spain.
