The Film Festival of L’Alfàs del Pi (Alicante, Spain) organizes its 25th edition this year, which will be celebrated between 5th and 14th July. As prelude of this XXV Film Festival, last Thursday a series of screenings of films in original version with subtitles in Spanish selected by the Filmoteca Valenciana (film library of the Valencian Community) started. The movies chosen from the golden era of Hollywood will be available on Thursdays in April, May and June in the Cine Roma (cinema) of Alfaz del Pi.

The Cine Roma, managed by the siblings Miquel and Pepe Iborra, is a mythical cinema in Alicante with extensive history which is also celebrating its 60th anniversary.

On Thursday 4th Casablanca was screened, and the upcoming screenings in 35mm that were acknowledged are:

Thursday 11th April– ‘Modern Times’, with Charles Chaplin.


Thursday 18th April– ‘To be or not to be’, of Ernst Lubitsch

Thursday 25th April– ‘The Roaring Twenties’, of Raoul Walsh

There will be 2 passes per day, programmed at 7pm and 9pm, and tickets cost 3 Euros.

Other mentioned titles were ‘Singing in the Rain’ and ‘Planet of the Apes’.

To get to Alfaz del Pi from Benidorm, you can simply catch bus no. 10. If you have a car, you will shortly be there following these indications.
