Salou has more than 14km of beaches, here we’ll tell you how to find your perfect beach depending on its characteristics, its services, its location, whether you prefer urban beaches or hidden, accessible to everyone or secret locations, with services or rather quiet ones, if you prefer to enjoy it with your family… You’ll learn were to find the here, starting from Cape Salou (Cap de Salou) and getting closer to the city.  Check the pictures and travel through Google Street View, you can see them in 360º!

Cala Crancs: A small cove surrounded by nature

  • Environment: In the Cape of Salou, the Cala Crancs (Crabs Cove) is located on the eastern side of the coast of Salou, it is surrounded by a pine forest, vegetation and rocks.
  • Water and sand: Quiet and soft, smooth white sand.
  • Services: Showers, toilets, bins and hammock rental.
  • Access: On foot, by bike or car.
  • For families: Ideal.

Cala Penya Tallada: A spot only suitable for a few

  • Environment: Following the Cape towards the village, it is the next beach that is easily recognized because it has a natural rock wall, which measures about 100m wide and 20m high, that’s why it is called “Penya Tallada” (cut cliff).
  • Water and sand: Quiet and soft, white sand and stones.
  • Services: Not available
  • Access: Only on foot
  • For families: Yes, as long as they can access.

Platja Llarga: An accessible, quiet and remote beach the big city

  • Environment: After “Penya Tallada” we find the Platja Llarga (Long Beach) which despite the name, is really not too big, although it is the Cape of Salou’s largest. It is quiet, with pine trees and vegetation, but next to the promenade.
  • Water and sand: calm, crystal clear, with smooth white sand.
  • Services: Lifeguard, public toilets, sun loungers, sunshades and water sports.
  • Access: It is right next to the promenade, so the access is easy walking or riding a bike. By car you can park near Platja Llarga, the walk to the beach is completely flat. So it is also suitable for people with reduced mobility or on wheelchair (the WC are also adapted).
  • For families: Ideal. Often you will find residents of Salou on this beach. It is because it is easy to access and a bit far from the tourist area.

Cala Llenguadets: A small cove with history near to the Hotel Calypso

  • Environment: Following the Camí de Ronda (a walking tour that runs along the Catalan coast), we find Cala Llenguadets. There is no vegetation, but there are interesting buildings nearby, such as a bunker from the Spanish Civil War and two machine gun nests.
  • Water and sand: Calm, clear and smooth white sand.
  • Services: Rental umbrellas, rental sunbeds, showers and toilets.
  • Access: Walking on foot along the Cami de Roda, following Torrassa Street. The ground is flat, and there is a small ramp at the end which makes the area accessible. It is 900m from Hotel Calpyso almost straight (about 12 minutes walk)
  • For families: Ideal.

Cala Capellans: A cove a little bit larger, urban and near the Hotel Calypso

  • Enviroment: The Cala Capellans (The Priest Cove) is the last (or first) of the Camí de Ronda of Salou. On this beach you can feel the urban environment, but there is also a small pine forest.
  • Water and sand: Quiet and soft, smooth white sand.
  • Services: It has all the facilities of an urban beach such as a lifeguard, restaurant, water sports, information point, toilets and showers adapted for the disabled, etc. It is located 750m from Hotel Calypso and it can be reached in 10 minutes on foot.
  • Access: On foot, by bike, car and public transport.
  • For families: Ideal.
