Costa del Sol is one of Europe’s top golf destinations attracting many golfers from all over Europe. With the Malaga Airport as a gateway to over 60 courses, Costa del Sol became an ideal place for golfing weekends and a golf breaks.

The most tourists are coming from northern Europe who make the most of the budget airline and head down to the south of Spain for a few days where they rent a car and play several courses over a few days or book a hotel for a couple of days. With over 300 days of sunshine a year this short golf break is a year round option. It’s very common to select off season for a golf holidays when flights are cheaper and there are plenty good deals on accommodation.

It’s not a simple decision to choose a place to stay for your golfing holiday. First stop westwards from Malaga is Torremolinos. Sixty years ago Torremolinos was a small fishing village but then tourism arrived and it expanded in all directions and Torremolinos became a famous tourist resort. Benalmádena is the next resort along the coast with all the same facilities as its neighbour town but with advantage of a great marina area with a selection of good restaurants and bars. Fuengirola has the most spanish visitors of these three resorts, all of which provide easy access to inland courses.

There are Costa del Sol golf courses to suit all levels of players and they are set in the beautiful surroundings, many with the sea and mountain views.
