Málaga from the very beginning has had a deep connection with the sea, its founders the Phoenicians arrived from across the sea in the 9th century. The boats which dock in Málaga Port today are very different from the Phoenicians: cruise liners, yachts, motorboats from which emerge a great number of tourists looking to enjoy the sun, the beaches and the andalusian atmosphere.

Over the last few years, Málaga Port has undergone a drastic remodelling  A result of this is Muelle Uno- shopping and leisure centre, which in a short period of time has become one of the most appreciated leisure areas in the city.

Muelle Uno Shopping Centre in front of the sea and fully integrated in to the port area has many green areas and some points offering spectacular views of Málaga and the emblematic sights such as la Alcazaba, the Cathedral and the Gibralfaro Castle. It provides the perfect place to relax feeling the sea breeze on your face, have a few drinks or simply admire the boats.

The new shopping centre is to the side of the Paseo de la Farola – the entrance is the same as the entrance to the port.  Between 50 and 70 shops and restaurants you will find at Muelle 1, with a mixture of offers in fashion, accessories, shoes, beauty articles, flowers, furniture, decoration and food. The wide choice of restaurants makes it easy to find the perfect place for lunch or dinner.

Next to this area you will find the new palm tree garden (Palmeral de las Sorpresas) where you can relax in between hundreds of palm trees with a kids playground. For kids there’s also an indoor playground, right at the entrance to the underground parking and the palm tree garden.
