Would you like to go for a walk? We’ve got a tip for you! The Coastal Footpath from Mijas to Marbella.

The Coastal Footpath ( Senda Litoral) is a route which goes along 14 municipalities of the Costa del Sol and is designed to be traversed on foot. Due to the different coastal areas there are stages divided into different sections.

Officially it begins on the Balcony of Europe ( Nerja) and ends in the town of Manilva, so it is a total distance of 200 kilometers that runs along cycle paths, boardwalks, beaches and rocky areas.
The section of the Coastal Footpath in which we focus, is located in Mijas Costa and is very appreciated for its excellent accessibility and the beauty of this route. The starting point where this Footpath begins is in “Cala de Mijas” and specifically the beach “La Luna”.
If you decide to walk the entire path from Mijas to Marbella, we recommend you to take water with you and why not, something to eat as it is about 6 km to the town of Marbella, therefore, you will walk 12 km along the promenade to get back to our starting point.

Every 100 meters there are street furniture where you can relax or watch calmly the breathtaking view, a few meters from the water, and also the wildlife of the area. You will find information panels with explanations and can be sure that you will have the possibility to watch many of the birds listed on the information panels.

In a nutshell, it’s an interesting plan that you should not forget to include to your ‘to-do list’ when holidaying in Costa del Sol, and of course make sure to get a perfect photos of this route.
